The vision and ideals of the Shri Shewetambar Stanakwasi Jain Educational Society and the divine grace of the Jain Munnis from that of Her Holiness Shri. Sayar Kanvarji Maharaj have kept the ideals of Mahavira, Jain Dharma and its tenets to develop this institution to its present state in these 54 years and this inspiration continues to stimulate the members of this institution to aspire and reach higher goals in education.
They exhorted the Jain community to concentrate on developing education for the Jain community and also for others. With this aim, the Shree Shewetambar Stanakwasi Jain Educational Society came into existence in November 1937 Shri Mohanmullji Chordia along with other generous donors not only from the Jain community but also from philanthropic south Indians raised fund large enough to meet the requirements of the Madras University to start a college and the college was appropriately named after the donor

Admissions & Scholarship
The admission of students for various courses to the available number of seats in each category is decided by the academic record of students. An admission committee comprising of the Principal and two senior most faculty members prepares the merit list based on Government Quota System.
The economically poor students are provided with books from Rajasthani Book Academy, which lends free textbooks. Our college is one of the premier institutions, which facilitates number of students to get Government scholarship provided to economically and socially weaker sections. The other Merit cum Means Scholarship from other agencies are also arranged to help the economically weaker students. The Management also gives fee concession to a good number of economically weaker and meritorious students during their course in the unaided evening college stream.
