The College is a grant-in-aid institution and has been recognised by UGC under 2f in June 1972. It is located in rural area with a campus spread over 39 acres. The College offers 6 undergraduate programmes, 9 post-graduate degree programmes, 2 Ph.D. programmes and 1 P G Diploma programme.
Under the aegis of the College there are 5 Faculties viz. Science, Arts, Commerce, Law, Home Science and 18 departments across the various faculties of the College.
There are 48 permanent teachers among which 9 have Ph.D. qualifications, 8 possess M. Phil. degree and 31 have Masters degree. The total number of temporary teachers is 45, 1 of them is Ph.D. and the remaining 44 have Masters degree in the respective fields. The College has 47 technical staff and 23 administrative staff members.
At the undergraduate level there are totally 2,444 students with 3 students from other states of India. In all there are 837 female students and 1,607 male students. At the post graduate level the total number of students are 771 among them 325 are female and 436 are male students. There are 3 female and 7 male students from other parts of India studying at the College. Four students are enrolled in the Ph.D. programme. The self-financed course has an enrolment of 49 students with 16 female and 33 male students.
In terms of infrastructure facilities the College has a Central Library with library holding of aprox. 50,000 books. It has a computer center, welfare schemes and a credit society. There are no linkages at national and international level.
Vidya Prasark Mandal does not manage any other College. Besides receiving grants from the Government, the College raises funds by various fund raising drives, alumni association activities and through fees received from self-financed courses.
