Admission to BE(Automobile Engineering)
Introduction:
Hindustan College of Engineering, established in the year 1985, has been conferred the “University Status” by UGC, Govt.of India u/s 3 of UGC Act 1956 with the name HINDUSTAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & SCIENCE from the academic year 2008 – 09. Application forms properly filled in should be sent only to admission Office or handed over in person along with (1) a Xerox Copy of the mark sheet of qualifying examination attested by a Gazetted Officer (2) Prescribed Registration Fee. Eligible candidates should apply on plain paper along with mark sheets (Xerox) of pervious year (FE / SE as applicable) (both semesters).
Based on the vacancies existing in branches, the applicant will get admission as per the Merit list based on the candidates qualifying exam.
Vacancies will be filled up strictly on merit of the result of the pervious year.

I wanted to know how much cut off percentage is required for getting admission to your college after completion of my diploma.I m currently pursuing my diploma at Nagpur in Electronics and Communication. (i) Eligibility Criteria for Children of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with IN/IAF.
Children of only those Ex Army Medical Corps Officers / Army Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served continuously with the Army for 10 years.
(ii) Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS Personnel. The following are eligible: -
(aa) Children of APS Personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Government of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9(52)/88/D (Res) dated 19 July 89.
(ab) Children of those APS Personnel who are on deputation and who have put in more than 10 yrs continuous service in the Army.
(ac)Children of APS Personnel who are directly recruited and (completed 10 years of regular service in Army) and of those who, as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS after completing their minimum pensionable service.
(iii) Eligibility Criteria for Children of MNS/TA Personnel. The following are eligible: -
(aa) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 yrs continuous service in Army as regular members of MNS officers or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
(ab) Children of those TA Personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.
(d) Should have passed, or appeared for 10+2 CBSE Exam or its equivalent, at the time of applying for admission to AIT. Minimum acceptable marks in PCM is 50% aggregate.
(e) Age of the candidate must be between 16 to 21 years as on 01 Jul 2010.
(f) Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission.
Entrance Examination
3. AIT admission is based on the Rank obtained in the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE). All applicants are therefore required to appear in AIEEE and also apply to AIT for Admission.
1. For the BE courses commencing July 2010, 240 seats are available at AIT (60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology), for wards of Army personnel through AIEEE Merit.
Eligibility Criteria
2. The eligibility criteria for admission to AIT is published in detail in the Prospectus being made available in February every year. Brief outline is as below :-
(a) The applicant must fall into one of the following categories: -
(i) Children of a serving regular Army Personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in Army.
(ii) Children of:-
(aa) Ex-Army Personnel granted/awarded regular pension, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board. This includes children of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.
(ab) Liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation and demise.
(iii) Children of Ex-Army Personnel who have taken discharge/release after ten years of continuous service in Army.
(iv) Wards of War Widows.
(b) Adopted/ Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows:-
(i) Adopted Children. Adopted Child of Army Personnel adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
(ii) Step Children. Step Children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army.
(iii) Children of Widows. Children of Widows of Army Personal who are born as a result of second marriage with Army Personnel. However, children of widows of Army Personnel born out of remarriage with Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission.
The first batch of BE students graduated in 1998 with flying colours.The succeeding batches continue to excel in all fields-be it sports,cultural or academics.And this tradition of excellence promises to remain unfizzed with every new batch coming to the Institution.
In Feb 2004 AIT acquired accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for five years and is currently in the process of reaccreditation. The Institute obtained accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in May 2007 and was awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification for quality Management and administration in Aug 2005 and re-certification in Aug 2008.
