@lingeshwari- they need to submit the results as soon as the class commences. The applications are assessed and the short listed candidates need to sit for a written examination which takes place in different parts of the country. After the examination, qualifying candidates will be called for an interview and then final results will be declared.

The examination will be in two parts: (a) to test the applicant’s English language skills and facility and (b) the awareness of current affairs and general knowledge. It will also test the candidates’ writing ability and assess their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Other procedures may be prescribed for candidates from abroad.

ENTRANCE EXAM

Morning Session: 9.30 am to 11.30am English (Paper Pattern)
Tea Break: 11.30 am – 12 noon
Afternoon Session: 12 pm to 1.30 pm General Knowledge (Paper pattern)

INTERVIEW

Applicants from India who have done well in the entrance examination will be invited to an interview at the College in early June.

Final results will be announced in the third week of June 2010.

Eligibility: Candidates should have cleared an undergraduate course in any discipline. Equivalent course in different SAARC countries would also be considered on a case by case basis. They must be proficient in English since all instruction and assignments at ACJ are in English.

Selection Procedure: Advertisements for admission to the ACJ each year are published in leading national dailies and on the SAF and ACJ web sites in early March. The ACJ holds a written test in many centres in India to assess the applicants’ English language competence and General Knowledge. Candidates from India shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the test are called for an interview at Chennai, after which the final admission list is drawn up.
