Syllabus:

The BITSAT-2011 test will be conducted on the basis of NCERT syllabus for 11th and 12th class. The detailed syllabus is given in the Annexure. Candidates may refer to the NCERT textbooks for the contents. A sample test demonstrating the features of BITSAT will be made available to the registered candidates at the BITS website on which he/she can practice as many times as desired.

Fill the application form Of BITSAT online and send the required amount of application fees as a DD to the stated address given on the site.
Keep visiting the site for furthur informations. After a month, the choice filling for the BITS exam will start to decide the at which you want to give the exam. Fill in your appropriate choice. The in late March or start of April, Admit Card will be sent and posted on website. Get the admit card . The centre of examination will be allocated.
Go the chosen place at the day and time chosen by you for the examination. Report at the centre 30 minutes before and there you can easily give your exam.

The admission to the institutions of BITS is made on the rank obtained in the online entrance test called BITSAT.

BITSAT is an entrance exam conducted for admission in to Birla Institute of Technology and Science for bachelor engineering programs in its Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa campuses. Unlike other engineering entrance tests BITSAT is not a paper based test but an online test. For the easiness of the students it occurs on different days for different students with different question sets of similar difficulty levels. BITS also provide opportunities to board-toppers students for direct admission in to these institutes without any entrance examination in specified course. This exam includes short and tricky questions related to the subjects like maths, physics and chemistry.

Important Dates
The forms for the entrance exam comes out in somewhere mid of December.

Deadline to apply for BITSAT-2011: end of the month of January, 2011

Test center allotment and announcement to candidates: mid of February, 2011

Candidates to reserve Test dates: mid of 3rd week of February – 2nd week of March 2011

There is no quota in BITS institutions for single girl child. The quota is only for Sc, ST and OBC as per Government instructions.

Admission Modality:

For admission to Higher Degree programmes leading to M.E./M.Pharm. candidates have to appear in the Online tests conducted by BITS at designated centers in different cities (See the advertisement and the detailed brochure available at the website while applying online). Shortlisted candidates will be required to come for an interview at Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad at their own cost and the admission is made on the basis of the performance in the online test and interviews.

Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani, at Pilani,Goa and Hydrabad campuses are made on the basis of a Computer based Online Test referred to as ‘BITS Admission test’, in short as BITSAT
The Institute admits first rank students of all the Central and State Boards in India directly to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT score. The admissions are made purely on merit basis provided the candidate obtains the minimum marks in PCM subjects of 12th examination. There is no separate admission procedure for NRI/Foreign students.

A student who has passed the 12th examination of the 10+2 system in 2008 or earlier and has joined any other reputed educational institute for higher studies can compete for admission to BITS, Pilani under the clause of ‘Admission with advanced standing’. This admission will be determined on a case by case basis taking into consideration the candidate’s performance in the latest examination and the type of courses that the candidate has already completed after 12th, to decide whether the candidate can be considered for admission under advanced standing as well as to decide the type of credits for the courses the candidate has already completed.

Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2010 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2009 only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2010 test. Students who have passed 12th examination in 2008 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010. Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2010

Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2010. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as mentioned above.

The Institute considers only the latest performance through a public examination for admission. If the results of the latest examination are not available within the due date for submission of application, the candidate will not be considered even if there are some earlier performances of 12th class or its equivalent or any higher examination available with him/her. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.
