Department of Industrial & Production Engineering was established in 1984 by offering undergraduate programme in Industrial Engineering, subsequently undergraduate programme in Production Engineering was started in 1999. These autonomous programmes are affiliated to University of Pune, recognised by Govt. of Maharashtra & All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi. The programmes of Industrial Engineering and Production Engineering have been accriedited by National Board of Accreditated, New Delhi.
The department is also running post graduate autonomous programme affiliated to Pune University in Industrial Engineering since 2004. The department has also been recongnized as Research centre in the field of Industrial Engineering since 2006 by University of Pune.

The institute offers Undergraduate,Postgraduate and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs in Engineering.. It has six full-fledged departments having nine branches with faculty who are motivated with a quest to promote engineering and technical education.
