Hiralal Bhagwati Institute of Communication & Management, Popularly Known as "Bhavan's H.B. Institute" was established in 1967 under the patrons of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Rajendra Prasad Institute, Mumbai, as H.B. Institute of Journalism and Printing. The initial financial assistance to start the institution was given by Mr. (Late) Hiralal Bhagwati, who was a businessman with deep foresight, a leading social figure of Ahemdabad. Kulpati K.M. Munshi a great freedom fighter and person with deep patriotic zeal and educationalist came forward to help Mr. Hiralal Bhagwati in establishing the institute at Ahmedabad.

The courses are open to any who has a Bachelor's Degree of ANY FACULTY from a RECOGNIZED University. No, admission is final unless it is accompanied by valid Enrolment Form. Ability to write English is essential. The courses are meant for candidates with a wide variety of background and no previous study in particular field is necessary.

Those candidates who have appeared in the degree examination may apply subject to certain conditions.

The study paper is meant to test not so much the student's acquaintance with theories but as their ability to apply them to specific situations and areas of activity. The choice of a subject for the study paper is left entirely to the student. However, it should have a certain relevance to the courses the student is undergoing.

There is a minimum limit on the number of words (3000-4000) for the Study Paper. The Study Paper is not to be an original thesis. It encourages student to do useful analytical work. Those student who are employed may profitably utilize their professional experience for relevant topics.
