HIT was set up by a group of Kolkata based eminent Industrialists renowned public figures in the eastern fringes of Kolkata. The foundation behind HIT is Kalyan Bharti Trust. The mission of this trust is to promote education, to nourish the students with rich cultural heritage of India.
Kalyan Bharti Trust has set up a Heritage School in 2001 where the future of India is being set up. Kalyan Bharti Trust comprises of a Board Of Trustees where top conglomerate of Industrialists, Political figures, and Educationalists are involved.
Accademic Curriculum of HIT consist of B.TECH / MBA / MCA / M.TECH
All the Courses are offered by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi & the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. It is affiliated to the West Bengal University Of Technology.
HIT consists of Training & Placement Cell for the students to place them in Big & Leading Industries & Organizations. It has an efficient infrastructure supported by a state-of the-art learning environment.
Heritage Institute Of Technology provides air-conditioned facilities including an auditorium, seminar hall etc. for pre-placement talk or other events.
It is always said, behind every good work there is good thought, without a good vision we can never ever frame out our work, Kalyan Bharti Trust has set up an example of having good thought for good purpose and Heritage Institute Of Technology is proved to be the outcome of good deeds.
Admissions are made as per the directive of the State Government issued from year to year. As of now, 90% of the seats are filled up through Central Counselling from the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or any equivalent examination of recognized Board or University and qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board and as recommended by the Central Selection Committee (E&T). Remaining 10% seats are filled up also through Central Counselling from the candidates of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). There is a provision of 10% of WBJEE sets to be filled up through Management Quota.
