Hi Eeshani,

We are looking for candidates who are curious, motivated and eager to learn. Your educational or vocational background are of no relevance to us. In fact the more different/unique your background, the better. We accept students who have a minimum aggregate score of 50% in their last qualifying exam. If you have less than that score due to extenuating circumstances, you will have to explain them in your application to us.

#117 eeshani dinesh 2013-03-06 09:26

@neeharika-According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09 Edition, the “Opportunities should be best for technical writers and those with training in a specialized field.” (Source: bls.gov/oco/ocos089.htm#outloo k)

Entry-level salaries are quite good and they range from Rs. 240,000 to 300,000 per year. After a few years of work experience in the technical writing field, you can work as a freelancer. More info at: http://tinyurl.com/techl-writing

#109 counselor-priya k 2013-02-04 05:43
@neeharika-Yes, you can enroll for M.S. in Journalism after B. Tech. If, however, you want to leverage your engineering education, you may want to pursue M.S. in Technical Communication to pursue the career of Technical Writer, in India or abroad.

College Overview:
The Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM) is one of South Asia’s leading post-graduate schools of journalism and media. Located in Bangalore in the heart of India’s high-tech industry, the institute offers an excellent curriculum that combines both theory and practice to prepare its graduates for positions in the media industry.

With increasing opportunities for employment in the media profession, journalism today is a preferred career choice. As an independent institution not affiliated with or run by any one newspaper or media organization, IIJNM is able to maintain a wider association within the industry. With assistance from the college placement department, our students have access to most media organizations for employment opportunities. In the past, practically all our graduates have received one or more job offers from media related organizations at attractive salaries.
