The application form for admission can be obtained from College the office in person or by sending a requisition letter along with a Demand Draft for the prescribed cost of the application from the month of April to August every year. The form also can be downloaded from the website of the College. The prospectus issued along with the application contains all relevant details. The academic year is from June to May.

Started in 1994 as an Under Graduate Institution with just two courses (B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Sc. Biochemistry), 48 students and 7 teachers in a very modest building in Pudukkottai town, the J.J. College of Arts and Science has developed into one of the premier institutions of higher learning in the state with an inter-state and international student profile and a wide variety of UG, PG and Research Programmes. the headquarters of Pudukkottai District in a pleasant ambiance on the southern bank of river Vellar, on a campus of a 50 acres of land.
At present the College has 3187 students and 173 staff within its fold. It offers 13 UG, 17 P.G. 10 M.Phil., 4 Ph.D., programmes, 2 PG-Diploma Courses and One Certificate Course and wide variety of inter-disciplinary and extra-disciplinary courses under the Choice Based Credit System.
