The JIS Foundation is the cherished vision of Sardar Jodh Singh. A self-made industrialist of repute, Sardar Jodh Singh strongly believed that every individual should give something back to the society that has nurtured him. He felt that providing quality educational infrastructure in a developing country like India is a social need.
Accordingly, he envisaged an institution that would be a centre of excellence and international repute in techno-commercial education & research and also churn out young professionals who are socially aware and committed.
Spurred by such a vision, Sardar Jodh Singh founded the JIS Foundation - a public charitable trust - dedicated to the social cause for providing higher education in country.
India has the third largest technical manpower base in the world. There is, however, a compelling need to move up the quality curve in the wake of globalization scenario.
The JIS Foundation strives to keep pace with the needs of the changing times and impart the right training to the young generation of the country.
The JIS Foundation, under Chairman Sardar Jodh Singh, manages the JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani, West Bengal.
