Madras Christian College has entered into the 175th year of glorious service to the Nation. Founded as a School in 1837 in the black town of Madras, the Institution was built and its character shaped by a host of Scottish missionaries such as Anderson and Miller, Hogg and Boyd. Many dedicated Indian teachers as well as generations of brilliant students contribute to its success story. Leaving their legacy behind is a galaxy of illustrious alumni like President Radhakrishnan. Such was the stature of the Institution that Mahatma Gandhi agreed to chair a student session in its premises in George Town in 1916, while Billy Graham spoke in the famous Anderson Hall in Tambaram in 1956. The College is known as much for its academic standing and leadership building as it is for social commitment. Besides, the unseen touch of the Almighty has always been felt and spoken of by generations of students and teachers. Today the College has more than 5000 students (both ladies and gentlemen as they are traditionally called) and over 220 faculty members serving in 31 departments. It is a matter of pride that the institution is ranked among the Top Ten Liberal Arts and Science Colleges in India and also received the Rating of A+ (equivalent to 90-95%) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The 365 acre salubrious, idyllic campus with its rare, diverse flora and fauna is a great joy to live in.

Admission details for the Academic Year 2011-2012 will be available on this website from April 2011 onwards. The Prospectus can be downloaded for details regarding Courses available and Eligibility requirements.
The Forms can be Downloaded. Download the application form along with coding sheet and take out a print on plain A4 size paper. The filled-in application form and the corresponding coding sheet should be sent along with a crossed demand draft for the required amount (for each course a separate DD has to be sent) drawn in favour of "The Principal, Madras Christian College, Tambaram". The filled in application form and the coding sheet along with photo copies of necessary mark sheets and certificates should be sent at the earliest to "The Principal, Madras Christian College, Tambaram, Chennai 600 059". Upon receipt of the application form and the coding sheet, the college will allot an application number. The filled-in application form along with the coding sheet should reach The Principal, Madras Christian College, Tambaram, within the specified last date for receipt of the applications. The application form along with prospectus can be obtained BY POST by sending a crossed demand draft for the required amount (for each course a separate DD has to be sent) drawn in favour of "The Principal, Madras Christian College, Tambaram", along with a covering letter specifying the choice of course. I am employed abroad and I have little source of information regarding admission procedures etc in any college.
My family is settled in India and my son is currently doing his Grade 12 and he is on the verge of completing his high school studies. Since my son is keenly interested in your college, he wants to know more information about admission procedures, timing of applications and various other associated formalities.
For your information, my son has always been one of brightest students of the schools throughout and he has a passion for Commerce stream. He has evinced in your college which has a unique standing of its own.

Today there are more than 5,500 students, both ladies and gentlemen as they are traditionally called, studying in 32 departments. More than half of about 250 faculty members possess doctorates. The 365 acre scrub jungle with rare flora and fauna is a great joy to live in. Everyone who walks into the campus experiences the rich legacy of the college.
