Meston College of Education was established in 1937 by missionary pioneers in the field of education, to cater to the needs of graduates who aspire to become teachers. It grew out of the Wesley College, which was one of the pioneering Arts Colleges in the city of Chennai.

Eligibility Criteria for admission:

Ph.D. (Full Time / Part Time) Degree course

A candidate who has qualified for the Master's Degree in Education or M.Phil. Degree in Education under the regulations of the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University or any other University recognised by the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University as equivalent thereto is eligible to register for Ph.D. course. The rules and regulations for registering for Ph.D., are given in the regulations of the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University.

M.Phil. (Full Time / Part Time) Degree Course

A candidate who has qualified for the Master Degree in Education from any University recognized by the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University.

M.Ed. Degree Course

A candidate who holds B.Ed. Degree from any University recognized by the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University.

B.Ed. Degree Course

A candidate who holds B.A. or B.Sc. Degree from any University recognized by the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University.

For all the above courses, Reservation of seats and other concessions for the various communities and special categories will be in accordance with the statutory provisions of the Government of Tamilnadu in force from time to time.
There is no upper age limit for admission to the above programmes.

Dear Dhanya, The notification for applying to B.Ed. is published in Local new papers. Admissions are made on the basis of rank in entrance test.
