Degree Programme is made strictly on merit, based on a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to be conducted on the 17th May 2009 at different centres across the country. NLSIU-Bangalore, NALSAR-Hyderabad, NLIU-Bhopal, NUJS-Kolkata, NLU-Jodhpur, HNLU-Raipur and GNLU-Ahmedabad have come together to conduct Common Law Admission Test. Eligibility and Admission Procedure

The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law was set up in Hyderabad, India in 1998 to create a generation of able and competent lawyers who would join the Bench. It was created by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly (Act 34 of 1998). The University is fully residential and conducts teaching in law and allied disciplines. NALSAR was responsible for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in 2009.

It was ranked as the best law school in the country by India Today in the year 2008.

INTAKE AND RESERVATION

The total no of seats - 80 (Eighty)
The number of students to be admitted through admission test is seventy with the following reservations: Scheduled Caste - 15% (11 Seats)
Scheduled Tribe - 7.5% (5 Seats)
Women* - 30% (Horizontal)
Persons with Disability - 3% (2 Seats)

* Since women candidates admitted come to about 50% on their own merit this reservation does not affect the seats in the general category.

In addition, 10 seats are allotted to Foreign Nationals. Candidates possessing the citizenship of a country other than India will only be considered under this category.

The foreign students will be admitted directly on the basis of their performance in qualifying examination, overall academic record and proficiency in English language. All foreign candidates must apply directly to the Registrar, NALSAR, Hyderabad in the prescribed application form with supporting documents by
10th April, 2009. The copy of the marks card of the qualifying examination should be sent by 30th May, 2009
