What was the given placement of NIT? How many students get placement in last year out of total strength. How many students get package and what are the companies. How to get addmission? Any fees leave for ST caste student whose father's income is 30,000 per annum. Can anyone get direct addmission?

Application form for applying to NIT Rourkela can be obtained either in person or by post from Assistant Registrar (Academic), National Institute of Technology, Rourkela - 769 008 on written request by sending a self addressed stamped envelope of size 10”x4.5” affixing postage of Rs. 5/- on it. The outer cover of the request letter should be superscribed as “Application form for admission to MCA programme”. Application can also be downloaded from the institute website www.nitrkl.ac.in.
The Application form completed in all respects should reach the Assistant Registrar (Academic), National Institute of Technology, Rourkela-769008 with in 15 days from the date of publication of NIMCET-2006 results along with a crossed bank draft of Rs. 300/-(non-refundable) drawn in favour of Director, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela-769008 payable at any bank at Rourkela and attested copies of documents. The envelope containing the completed application form should be superscribed by “Application for admission to MCA programme – 2006”. Completed application form will not be accepted by hand.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline with at least 60% marks in +3 or equivalent examination and should have Mathematics as one of the subjects at either 10+2 level or +3 level. There is no relaxation in academic requirement for any category / caste of candidates. The candidates appearing in the final Bachelor Degree examination are also eligible to apply. But the results must be produced at the time of interview for admission.
Reservation: As per Government of India rules.
Selection: Selection is strictly based on NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET-06) to be conducted by National Institute of Technology, Calicut on 14.05.2006 (10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.)
