National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT) formerly known as Regional Engineering College, (REC) is one of the premier national level institutions for technical education in the country. and is funded by the Government of India. Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a deemed university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. The main objective of the institute is to produce quality Engineers and Scientists in Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in various branches of Engineering and Science. The institute is managed by the Board of Governors of National Institute of Technology (Rourkela) Society and vested with significant degree of administrative and financial autonomy. Government of India have recognised the institute as a premier institution of repute and have developed it as a center of excellence under plan funding. The institute has been modernised by two foreign collaborative funding agencies i.e. the Material theme in the Materials and Metallurgical Engineering department under Indo-U.K. REC project and the Computer Science and Electronics streams under World Bank cum Swiss Development Corporation IMPACT project

The Application form completed in all respects should reach the Assistant Registrar (Academic), National Institute of Technology, Rourkela-769008 with in 15 days from the date of publication of NIMCET-2006 results along with a crossed bank draft of Rs. 300/-(non-refundable) drawn in favour of Director, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela-769008 payable at any bank at Rourkela and attested copies of documents. The envelope containing the completed application form should be superscribed by “Application for admission to MCA programme – 2006â€. Completed application form will not be accepted by hand.
Reservation: As per Government of India rules.
Selection: Selection is strictly based on NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET-06) to be conducted by National Institute of Technology, Calicut on 14.05.2006 (10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.)
I have got 57.12% marks in gradutation(math) this year and I am willing to do M.C.A from H.C.U .so I want to know that can I am elligible for giving the entrance exam.
A candidate who has passed the final examination for the BCA from recognized University obtaining at least 60% marksshall be eligible for admission to the programme.
