The candidate should have passed the twelfth standard of Tamil Nadu H.S.C. (Academic) or an equivalent examination recognised by Anna University with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The Candidate should have passed the Diploma Examination in Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu or an equivalent examination for direct admission to second year (Lateral Entry)

Number of appearances, minimum marks and other criteria for admissions to B.E / B.Tech courses are as per AICTE and State government norms.

RMK Engineering College is a college in Tamil Nadu, India, governed by the Lakshmikanthammal Educational Trust. It is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and accredited by AICTE. It is a Telugu minority institution.

The college opened in 1995 with three departments -- electrical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering. The college was originally in Gummidipundi, but later moved to Kavarapettai. It now has more than 700 students in various departments such as EEE, ECE, EIE, CSE, Information Technology, civil engineering and mechanical engineering. In addition to offering a bachelor of engineering degree, the college also offers MCA, ME in Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI Design, Product Design and Development, and an MBA program.
