The ICFAI University was formed in the year 1984 at Hyderabad and was called Institute of Certified Financial Analysts. Its main function was to look after the training and certification needs of the students who were interested to take up financial analysis as their career. Later on, the name of the institute was changed to The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India. It is, at present, registered as a non-profit organization whose main aim is to give knowledge and training pertaining to finance and management to various students and the working professionals in India.
