If the From the next academic year, Tuition fee waiver scheme (TFWS) of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will be made mandatory in all the technical colleges. This scheme is for economically backward students including women and also for handicapped students.

This scheme was followed from April 2007 and it allowed a institutions like engineering, hospitality and pharmacy colleges to admit students under tuition fee waiver schemes in addition to the sanctioned number of students.
