B.ED ADMISSION PROCESS IN CHANDIGARH

B.Ed Admission Process in Chandigarh

Entrance Exam: Admission to the B.Ed. course is held on the basis of the results of Joint Entrance Test conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh for Education Colleges situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

Eligibility: For admission to the Colleges of U.T. (Chandigarh) condition of residence is not required.

UT Pool 60%: Out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 60% seats are filled up from amongst the students who passed their qualifying examination from colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh as a regular student of the said College/ Institution, subject to the condition that such students must have studied for two years at Chandigarh and have passed one lower qualifying examination from the colleges/institutions situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

General Pool 40%: Out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 40% seats are filled from amongst the students who have passed their qualifying examination from the institutions other than those located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh or otherwise.

Eligibility Exception: The relaxation of marks is also applicable for those applicants who are belonging from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, OBC/MOBC and all others who falls under the Physical Disability (PD) category. There is a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST candidates.

Age limit: There is no upper age limit for admission to B. Ed. Courses.

Method Subjects: English, Bio. Science, Physics, Chemistry, Math., Geography, History, Work Education, Computer Education are available and the offer of admission will be given as per availability of seats and subjects of the College concerned.

Selection Process:

Admission to B.Ed. is made on the basis of subject combinations according to the merit in Entrance Test. The candidates are given the required subject combinations depending upon the seats available in the colleges.

Fee for B.Ed Course: Fee for the various courses in Government/Aided colleges will be as fixed / approved by the Government, from time to time. The details of fee structure for the various courses will be published before the commencement of option registration.
