B.Ed Admission Process in New Delhi

Entrance Exam: For admission into B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) Course in New Delhi, there is an common entrance test conducted by University of Delhi

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree or any other qualification recognised equivalent thereto from a recognised university with a minimum of 50 % marks in aggregate in the 10+2+3 or 11+2+2 pattern, or with a minimum of 55 % marks in aggregate in the 10+2+2 or 11+3 pattern

Eligibility Exception: 22.5% of the total number of seats (15% for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes) are reserved for these categories. Each scheduled caste/scheduled tribe candidate will be allowed a concession of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirements. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, while applying for admission, will be required to submit a certificate from the competent authority as listed below, along with the application for admission to the effect that he/she belongs to a Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe

Age limit: There is no upper age limit for admission to B. Ed. Courses.

Method Subjects: Art, Bangla, Bio-logical Science, Chemistry, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Integrated Science, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Political Science, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Social Science, Tamil, Urdu are available and the offer of admission will be given as per availability of seats and subjects of the College concerned.

How to Apply:

The applications should be sent by Registered Post (on or before May 03, 2010) to the Convenor, B.Ed. Admission Committee-2010, Faculty of Education, University of Delhi, 33,Chhatra Marg, Delhi – 110 007.

Application Fee:

The application form for the course can be obtained from SBI and also from university counter by paying Rs 350/-. The same can also be obtained through post by paying 425/- through DD drawn under the favor of Registrar, University of Delhi. The duly filled form should be submitted to the Department of Education.

Procedure of Admission:

On the basis of the above eligibility conditions, the candidates will be divided into the following subject categories. They will compete among themselves for the number of seats available under each subject category in the two institutions, as detailed below

Duration of B.Ed Course: The Colleges offers One Year Secondary Teacher Education Programme known as B.Ed.

Fee for B.Ed Course: Fee for the various courses in Government/Aided colleges will be as fixed / approved by the Government, from time to time. The details of fee structure for the various courses will be published before the commencement of option registration.
