Entrance test:
Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is conducted by the Government of Maharashtra for all health sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses. The Government of Maharashtra has appointed a Competent Authority for the MHT-CET for each stream.
Eligibility Criteria:
~Candidate should be an Indian National
~Should have passed/appeared* the HSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English,
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% Marks (45% for Backward class
categories )
~ Maharashtra State candidates and OMS candidates (Outside Maharashtra State) are eligible to appear
for the MHT-CET conducted by the Competent Authority of Government of Maharashtra. Even though
Outside Maharashtra State candidates are eligible to appear for the MHT-CET, it is specifically made
clear that such OMS candidates will not able to participate in the Centralized Admission Process. The
NRI candidates are eligible to apply for admission against the Institute level seats, only in Unaided
Private Engineering Colleges/ Institutes.
EXAM PATTERN:
The MHCET will consist of three question papers. The time allowed will be one and half hours for each paper. Each paper is of 100 marks –
Paper I :- Physics & Chemistry (50 marks each)
Paper II :- Biology (Botany & Zoology - 50 marks each)
Paper III:- Mathematics(100 Marks)
The candidate desirous of selection to Engineering degree courses should appear for Paper I and Paper III At the end of paper/session student will handover the OMR Answer sheet and Question booklet to the invigilator. There is no choice among the questions, i.e. all questions have to be answered. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers.
Syllabus of the exams will be the same as for the current year for HSC examination of HSC Boards of Maharashtra. The medium for examination shall be English or Marathi or Urdu for Physics, Chemistry. However, Mathematics paper shall be in English only.
