electronics is in someways a sub catagory of electrical engineering. Certainly electrical seems to be the more traditional side
electrical has more job prospects, however neither is necessarily "better". Also it seems that since renewables have became the fashion lately, electrical engineering courses are getting more and more popular.

yes you can get placements but not so many .
As Medical Electronics which is mainly related to designing of medical equipments will see a growth in the coming years due to the growth in health care business and new technology inventions in the area but as of now the career scope is decent and not very booming. As this is quite a new field in India, there are not many colleges offering this course. However, few of which you can check are: Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, MS Ramaiah University.
