IIM-Lucknow

The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (also referred to as IIM Lucknow or IIML), was established in 1984, by the Government of India, as a national level school of management science. It was the fourth Indian Institute of Management to be established in India after IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Bangalore. It is situated at the outskirts of the city of Lucknow. IIM Lucknow is the first and so far the only IIM to open a satellite campus.

Programmes

The institute offers courses in Post Graduate programme that is for two years. The first year courses include:

Marketing, Finance And Accounting, Operations Management, Information Technology And Systems, Business Environment, General Management, Human Resource Management, Decision Sciences

The second year courses include the following:

Admission Procedure

The admission process to get into IIM Lucknow is quite tough. A highly competitive exam known as CAT (Common Admission Test) is conducted all over the country once a year. The CAT is considered to be one of the toughest exams in India with a success rate of less than one in a hundred. All IIM's have their own ways of evaluating students who clear the CAT. Some institutes conduct personal interviews while some conduct GD's (Group Discussions).

Facilities

The campus is spread over an area of 185 acres and is beautifully landscaped. The campus has a well-equipped library, a modern computer centre, an automated programme office, class room block having 950 seats, twelve furnished hostels with single-seater bachelor accommodation for 495 students. A medical centre, guest house, a sports complex for indoor games and residential buildings and community centre and all lecture halls of PGP block are air-conditioned.
