Entrance Exam: For admission into B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) Course in the colleges affiliated to North Bengal University, an entrance test is conducted by North Bengal University
A candidate shall be eligible for admission into the B.Ed Course if he/she has passed the Undergraduate examination in Arts / Science / Commerce / Fine Arts / Music or any other school based subject.
Each candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in the aggregate in the Graduation / P.G.level. Persons belonging to SC / ST shall be eligible to apply if they secure at least 45% marks in the aggregate in the Graduation / P.G. level. The age of the applicant shall not be above 35 years as on 30/06/2012

Deputed Teachers from any Govt. or Govt. aided school having at least two year approved teaching experience within the state of West Bengal are eligible.
Eligibility Exception: Candidates (both Fresher & Deputed) belonging to SC/ST category having at least 40% marks either in Bachelor’s Degree (i.e. for the candidates of Honours courses) and/or in Master’s Degree in Arts/Science/Fine Arts/Music/ Commerce or having at least 37.5% marks in Bachelor’s Degree (i.e. for the candidates of General courses) be eligible for application.
Age of the Fresher candidates as on 30th June, 2012, shall not exceed 35years.

Data of Issue of Application: The tentative dates of issue of application for B.Ed is March
Exam Date: The tentative dates of Pre-Teacher Education Test would be conducted in the last week of May
Medium of Instruction: Bengali or English.
Centralized B.Ed Admission has been conceived to alleviate the problems of the students for filling up of multiple forms for admission to the B.Ed course in different colleges under the same University. It is also aimed to bring in transparency in the entire process, so that students can be placed in the College of their choice in accordance with their merit.
