B.Ed Admission Process in Rajasthan

'B.EdEntrance Test: For admission into B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) Course in various B.Ed colleges in Rajasthan, there is an entrance test called Pre-Teacher Education Test (PTET). This PTET Test is conducted by Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur.

 

Eligibility: Candidates appearing PTET Test should secure at least 45% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor's degree / Master's degree examination from the colleges affiliated to Jai Narain Vyas University

 

Eligibility Exemptions:

  • Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes as well as handicapped candidates of Rajasthan securing at least 40% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor's/Master’s degree level examination will be eligible to apply for admission.
  • Widow or Divorcee candidates securing at least 36% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor's/Master’s degree level examination will be eligible to apply for admission.
  • Those who are appearing in the qualifying examination i.e. B.A./B.Com./B.Sc./Shastri Final year and/or
  • M.A./M.Com./M.Sc./Acharya Final year may also apply and appear in PTET for consideration of provisional admission.

Reservation: Out of the total number of seats available in each Faculty (Arts, Science and Commerce), reservation will be as under:

How to Apply: Interested candidates can obtain the application form (available in the form of OMR sheet) on cash payment of Rs 400 (including entrance exam fee) at the PTET Office, IV FS-5, Sector 3, Staff Quarters, Jai Narain Vyas University, New Campus Road, Jodhpur, Rajasthan 342016. Thereafter, the duly filled application form (OMR Sheet) must be send address to one of authorized officer (list mentioned in website: www.ptetjnvu.org) to Jai Narain Vyas University, New Campus Road, Jodhpur, Rajasthan 342016. Applications submitted directly to the PTET Office, would be considered as rejected. For more details, visit the website: http://www.ptetjnvu.org/.

 

Data of Issue of Application: The tentative dates of issue of application for Pre-Teacher Education Test would be in April

 

Exam Date: The tentative dates of Pre-Teacher Education Test would be conducted in May/June

 

Exam Fee: The exam for Pre-Teacher Education Test is Rs. 400/-

 

Exam Pattern: The PTET Examination will consist of one question paper containing following Four Sections:

  • Mental Ability
  • Teaching Attitude & Aptitude Test
  • General Awareness and
  • ·Language Proficiency (Hindi or English)

The question paper of each section will be in the form of a test booklet containing 50 questions bearing number 1, 2, 3, ……, 50. There would be at least four alternative suggested answers (A) (B) (C) (D) etc. to each question. The minimum qualifying marks of written test will be 240 i.e. 40% of the maximum marks

 

Qualification: To qualify in the Entrance test of PTET, the candidates shall require to secure at least 240 marks i.e.40% marks in the test. Moreover, his/her name should figure in the merit list, within the total number of seats available in different categories. Merely securing 40% marks will not confirm the admission in B.Ed. Course.

Declaration of Results: The Results of PTET will be declared around in the third week of September. The Result will be available in the website www.ptetjnvu.org and in all leading newspapers in Rajasthan. The results also can be found here directly http://ptetadmissions.nic.in/result.aspx

College List: We can find the list of B.Ed Colleges which accepts Pre-Teacher Education Test from http://ptetadmissions.nic.in/Documents/Final%20List%20of%20Colleges%20to%20NIC.mht

Allotment of Seats: Allotment of Teacher Education Institution will be made through On Line counseling. The counseling programme will be published in leading news papers of Rajasthan as well as it will be available on PTET website. The counseling will be done in the month of October.

Registration Fee for Counseling: The PTET candidates will have to deposit Rs 2000 in any branch of Bank of Baroda in the month of September

Allotment of Seats to Outside State: Out of the total number of seats faculty-wise, not exceeding 5% seats will be filled in on the basis of overall merit, irrespective of the State to which the candidate belongs provided that merit of a candidate from outside Rajasthan is not less than the merit of the last candidate admitted belonging to Rajasthan in a general category. The remaining seats will be available to the candidates who are bonafide resident of Rajasthan State.

Duration of B.Ed Course: The Colleges offers One Year Secondary Teacher Education Programme known as B.Ed. Since the Colleges are affiliated with Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur as such the final examinations for B.Ed. are conducted by it and the degree is also conferred by this University.

 

Fee for B.Ed Course: The fee is decided by the Government of Rajasthan and is paid to the university conducting the P.T.E.T. Examination at the time of counseling. Presently the Fee Structure is Rs. 19,400/-
