Stages covered under CS (Company Secretary):

Foundation Programme:

Foundation Programme in company secretary (CS)  is of eight months duration can be pursued by 12th pass of Science, Arts or Commerce stream (Excluding Fine Arts). There are four papers in foundation programme.

  • Business Environment & Entrepreneurship
  • Business Management, Ethics and Communication
  • Business Economics
  • Fundamentals of Accounting and Auditing

 Executive Programme:

Executive Programme in Company Secretary (CS) can be pursued by a Graduate of all streams except Fine Arts. There are two way to get admission into executive programme one is by passing foundation stage of ICSI and second option is direct entry scheme by way of Admission after clearing graduation from any streams or CPT Or Foundation level of CMA. There are 7 papers divided into 2 Modules in CS Executive Programme.

Module-1

  • Company Law
  • Cost and Management Accounting
  • Economic and Commercial Laws
  • Tax Laws and Practice

Module-2

  • Company Accounts and Auditing Practices
  • Capital Markets and Securities Laws
  • Industrial, Labour and General Laws

 Professional Programme:

The professional programme in company secretary (CS) can be pursued only after clearing the Executive Programme of CS Course. There is no direct entry scheme in professional level. There are 3 modules with different subjects under professional programme.

MODULE 1

  • Advanced Company Law and Practice
  • Secretarial Audit, Compliance Management and Due Diligence
  • Corporate Restructuring, Valuation and Insolvency

MODULE 2

  • Information Technology and Systems Audit
  • Financial, Treasury and Forex Management
  • Ethics, Governance and Sustainability

MODULE 3

  • Advanced Tax Laws and Practice
  • Drafting, Appearances and Pleadings

Electives 1 out of below 5 subjects

  • Banking, Law and Practice
  • Capital, Commodity and Money Market
  • Insurance Law and Practice
  • Intellectual Property Rights - Law and Practice
  • International Business-Laws and Practices

Company Secretary Registration Fee Structure:

There are three stages in the company secretary course so registration fee and examination fee are also different in these stages.

CS Foundation Programme              

Registration Fee-

  • Rs.4500/-(For handicapped students it will be 1500/- only and for ST/SC students it will be 50%)

Exam Fee-

Rs.1200/-


CS Executive Programme                 


Registration Fee-

  • Rs.9000/- for Commerce Graduates / CPT passed of ICAI / Foundation passed of ICAI-CMA
  • Rs 10,000/- for Non-Commerce Students
  • Rs 8,500/- for CS Foundation passed students

(For handicapped students it will be Rs.2000/- only and for ST/SC students it will be 50%)

Examination Fee-

Rs.1200/- Per Module

Medium of Examination-

The CS Institute conduct the examination in English as well as in the Hindi language. (Except Business Communication subject of Foundation Program)

Qualifying Marks in Examination-

A candidate has required minimum 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in aggregate of all subjects for passed the Foundation / Executive / Professional examination.

Institute of company Secretary of India (ICSI) Training under CS Programme-

  • Student Induction Programme (SIP) - 7 days training. Within six months of Registration to Executive Programme have to appear in Executive Program Examination.
  • Compulsory computer training program- Student required doing compulsory computer training for 70 hours for becoming eligible to seek enrolment to appear in executive programme examination
  • Executive Development Programme (EDP) - After passing the Executive Programme and before commencement of 15 months.

    • Specialized Training- Students require undergoing 15 days training after completing SIP, EDP and 15 months of training with professional examination. It will require to training in the specialized agency such as ROC or Stock exchange or Financial and Banking Institution or Management consultancy.
    • Management Skills Orientation Programme (MSOP)- This 15 days training will be required to doing after professional programme and completion of Executive development programme
