JEE Advanced 2015 is schedule to be conducted on May 24th 2015 as per the information brochure shared by IIT Bombay. Candidates who are among the top 1, 50, 000 scores in JEE Main 2015 are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2015.

This year the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2015 has been modified by IITs where in the 20 percentile admission criteria has been relaxed.

As per the information brochure shared by IIT Bombay the registration for JEE advanced commences from May 2nd 2014 onwards. The registration fee for the examination has also been shared in the information brochure.

In order to be eligible to apply for JEE advanced 2015 a candidate must fulfill the below mentioned criteria

Criterion 1

Performance in JEE Main 2015

Candidates who are among the top 1, 50,000 score holders across all the categories are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2015.But out of this number general category candidates from the common merit list will be admitted to fill 50, 5% seats, OBC0NCL candidates will fill 27% seats and SC as well as ST candidates will fill 15% and 7.5% seats respectively.

Also, within each of these categories, Pwd candidates will have a horizontal reservation of 3%.

Criteria 2

Age Limit

Candidates are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2015 provided that they were born on or after October 1st 1990 if they belong to the general r OBC-NCL category. On the other hand SC, ST or PWD category candidates are eligible to apply if they were born on or after October 1st 1985.

Criterion 3

Number of attempts

A candidate can apply for JEE advanced a maximum of two times provided he or she gives the exam in consecutive years. Thus if a candidate wants to attempt JEE advanced 2015,then this should be either his or her first attempt or his or her second consecutive attempt.

Criterion 4

Appearance in Class 12th examination

A candidate is eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2015 provided he or she appeared for his class 12th exam for the first time in 2014 or 2015.

candidates who appeared for their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2013 or earlier (for the first time) are not eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2015. But, candidates whose Class XII (or equivalent) exam Board results were declared after June 2013 for the academic year 2012-2013 are eligible to appear for the examination.

Criterion 5 – Earlier admission at IITs/ISM

A candidate is only eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2015 if they have not taken admission in any of the programmes on offer at the 16 IITs and ISM before. This criterion needs to be strictly followed irrespective of the fact whether the candidate continued admission in the programme or not.  A candidate is even not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced if he/she has paid the admission fee for a course at any of the IITs or ISM in the past.

Also, candidates who applied for admission and their admission was cancelled cannot apply for JEE Advanced 2015. But, candidates who are pursuing a preparatory course on offer at any of the IITs in 2014 are eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2015.
