I have submitted the request for updating my Aadhaar Details. But, I am not able to apply with the updated details? What can I do?

If this is the case, you will have to apply for JEE Main by entering the 14 digit Aadhar Enrolment ID or UR number inclusive of slash. You can find this number printed on the slip that was issued to you by the Aadhaar Center. The same should be done once you submit the update request.

In the first step of application submission, by Aadhaar authentication failed. What can I do now?

The first thing you should do is to check whether you have entered the details correctly as per your Aadhaar Card. You should submit a request for correction at the Aadhaar centre for biometric updation. Then, you should apply for JEE Main with the 14-digit Aadhaar Enrolment or UR Number after submitting updation request.

In my Aadhaar card, my DOB is either incorrect or not complete or only my year of birth is present. In these cases, what can I do?

You should first submit a request for correction at the Aadhaar centre and then when applying for JEE Main, you will have to enter the 14-digit Aadhaar enrolment or UR number.

My name in my school records and the same in my Aadhaar are not in the same format. What can I do?

Even, in this case, you should submit a request for correction and when submitting your application to JEE Main, you should just enter the 14-digit enrolment or UR Number related to Aadhaar.

My father’s name or my mother’s name is not the same in my Aadhaar like my school records. Also, due to change of my house, there is a different address in my Aadhaar as compared to my present address. What shall I do?

The good thing here is that these details are not matched with your Aadhaar details. So, you should correctly fill up these details in your JEE Main application as per your school records. For address, you can enter the appropriate details under present and permanent address as you will not get any communication from CBSE by post.

I do not have an Aadhaar card as I belong to Meghalaya. What can candidates with a similar situation from Assam and Jammu & Kashmir do?

Candidates from these states will have to enter their ration card number, passport number or bank account number of any other valid government identity number. But, they can do the same only when they choose the examination center from these three states alone.

If I am from Jammu & Kashmir or Assam or Meghalaya, am I eligible to choose examination centers from other stated across India to take up the test?

You can apply if you have a valid Aadhaar card only. You should ensure that your gender, DOB, and name in the online application for JEE Main are the same in your class X and XII Certificate/mark sheet and Aadhaar card. This is to ensure your authentication and identity.

For candidates applying from foreign countries, what document can they use against Aadhaar?

Aadhaar is compulsory for Indian citizens apart from those from Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, and Assam. Foreign nationals can use their passport to apply for JEE Main.
