UPES stands for University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and UPESEAT is the Engineering Admission Test conducted by the university for admission to the B. Tech and B. Des course offered by the university in different streams.

For this, applicants must have secured at least 60% of marks at the Higher and senior secondary level, which means 10th and 12th standard. Des. course, in addition to UPESEAT, a separate design test will be conducted for one hour duration on the same day of the engineering entrance test. This will be followed by counseling through merit secured in the UPESEAT.

Non-exam pathway: Candidates choosing this path, if they have JEE main scores, they need not have 80% of marks in the qualifying 10th and 12th examinations mentioned earlier and they can have 60% of marks in these examinations. In both cases, centralized counseling will be conducted through board merit and UPES JEE main rank.
