Following Information Technology (IT), mechanical engineering comes second in the list of most favored engineering disciplines. In this stream, students learn to apply various principles of mechanics and energy in order to come up with new designs of a variety of machines. From designing the structure to its operations and performance to maintenance, mechanical engineers are thoroughly involved in the procedure.

Mechanical engineers are required to design and create machinery for various purposes in a number of industries. The machine include bur are not limited to automobiles for transportation, space vehicles, machinery for facilitating agriculture, manufacturing and production devices, fax machine, copiers and other devices used in offices, milling machines, heavy drilling vehicles and systems, bucket trucks and many other. Apart from that, they also design power plants and are involved with fuel thermogenesis and energy conversion.

My younger brother did his engineering from Thapar Institute of engineering and technology. He is now placed in a very reputed company of India. I sincerely suggest that one should opt for TIET for Mechanical Engineering. The fee is also reasonable and student accommodation is beyond perfect.

This article is very informative. I myself studied from Thapar Institute of Engineering and technology.
Since then there has been no looking back in my life. MY placement was satisfactory and so was my tenure at the college.

Hi,
This is a really helpful article for those planning to pursue Mechanical engineering.
And i definitely believe IITs are the main focus in this matter for any student. I mean just imagine who would not want to crack IIT and dream of bigger and better opportunities. But at the same time, many average students are there who are not able to crack IIT but they too have bigger dreams for a successful career ahead. And i can understand this situation and the dilemma the students go through as my own brother had to deal with it. But today he has a secure job with greater opportunities as with the God's grace he got admission on his merit at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. The institute goes through tests, GD and PI processes, with the better guidance & more focused curriculum along with practical integrations in the courses. The faculty was really supportive and encouraging. The legacy that Thapar shows is truly worth believing and giving it a try.
