Engineering Admission Process in Kerala

Entrance test:

KEAM is conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examination of Kerala state. Admission to Professional degree courses which has been approved by the Govt. of Kerala is made on the basis of merit obtained in this entrance exam. KEAM scores are valid for admission to the following courses in the institutes of Kerala.

Eligibility Criteria:

A pass in 10+2 from any one of the universities in Kerala or its equivalent with the following given percentage of marks for each course are eligible to apply.

Those who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

Candidates should have completed 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission.

Diploma holders securing 50% marks are also eligible for admission.

EXAM PATTERN:

Appearance in the two papers of the concerned Entrance Examination is compulsory for being considered for inclusion in the Engineering rank lists and appearance in the two papers of the Aptitude test in Architecture is compulsory for being considered for inclusion in the Architecture rank list.

Test is of objective type consisting of two papers the1st paper in Physics, Chemistry while the 2nd paper in Mathematics.

Selection : Selection is made on the basis of merit in KEAM conducting in various centres of the state

RESERVATION OF SEATS:

65% on merit on a Statewise basis

Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) - 25%

[ Ezhava (EZ) – 9%

Muslim (MU) - 8%

Other Backward Hindu (BH) - 5%

Latin Catholic Other than Anglo Indian (LC) - 2%

Other Backward Christian (BX) - 1% )

Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes – 10 % ]
