Engineering Admission Process in Madhya Pradesh

Entrance test:

Pre Engineering Test (PET) is conducted every year by Professional Examination Board (PEB), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The examination is meant for admission in any of the engineering colleges of the state of Madhya Pradesh such as Government Engineering Colleges; Private Engineering Colleges; Autonomous Institutions and MP quota seats in National Institute of Technology. Intakes into the different engineering degree programs (B.E/B.Arch./BTech) is on the basis of Pre Engineering Test (PET) merit ranking.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have passed or appeared for the following examinations with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects:

12th Class Examination of 10+2 scheme of Higher Secondary Board, Madhya Pradesh.
Any equivalent or higher examination conducted by a recognized Board or a recognized university. 
Those who have passed final year Diploma in any Engineering branch of Madhya Pradesh Board of Technical Education, Bhopal / Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal.

Age Limit:

Not more than 21 years on October 1 of the year of admission (relaxable by 3 years in case of SC/ST

Domicile Requirements

The candidate is a Citizen of India
The candidate has been educated in an educational institution located in M.P. for at   least three consecutive years during the five years period from the year of examination.

The candidate is a bonafide resident of M.P 
The candidate is a son or daughter of , 
i) An employee or a pensioner of the Government of M.P. or an employee of the Government of M.P. who died while in service of these State or an officer of the All India Services borne on the cadre of M.P.
ii)  A Central Government employee including employee of Defense Establishments, employee of Post & Telegraph Dept. or the Railways or an employee of a public sector undertaking posted and stationed in M.P. on or before January 1, of the year of examination till the date of admission.
iii)  A person settled in M.P. under any resettlement scheme sanctioned by the Government of India or the State Government of M.P.

EXAM PATTERN:

The Test is held usually in the month of May.

Test consists of objective type multiple choice questions in maths, physics and chemistry (300 marks each).

Syllabus for the PET is same as that of Higher Secondary Exam.

Medium of the exam is English.

RESERVATION OF SEATS:

Reservation of seats for admission to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (except Creamy Layer) have been made in Engineering colleges declared autonomous by the State Government of M.P.; in Government aided Engineering Colleges; MACT, Bhopal M.P. Quota and Autonomous and Self financing institutions.

Reservation for military personals, freedom fighters, female candidates, physically handicapped etc is also available as per the rules and regulations of government

yes, your percentage is very low, I will not suggest that you should choose engineering as a career, but still you want to do engineering you can try for private college in Nalbari, they will admit you.

No, for getting admission in IIMs for management course, you should have to clear entrance exam, but there are many other MBA colleges in Tiruvallur where without entrance you can take admission
