Preferred Mode of Pursuing Civil Engineering in Top Institutes of Science and Engineering, India

The competition for the many seats available through this examination is extremely stiff since engineering is perhaps the most popular of career options for (10+2) students in India. For most of the entrance examinations held for the top engineering colleges in India, students need to have at least 50% marks at the (10+2) level. The required percentage is a bit higher for admission test of the IITs. Students should be from the science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as the subjects. Some of the state engineering colleges in India grant admission based upon the marks obtained at the 12th standard examination, i.e. on merit basis. Diploma Options in Civil Engineeringfor Students who cannot get Admission into Top Ranking Engineering Colleges

Students who cannot gain admission into the top engineering colleges in India often undertake diploma courses. Diploma in engineering is offered by various polytechnics and some universities. Examples of reputed institutes offering diploma courses include National Institute of Construction Management and Research, Hyderabad that has branches in Gurgaon and Pune. A popular diploma option here is the Postgraduate Diploma programme in construction management. This course is also sought by graduate engineers wanting to specialize in civil engineering. Diploma holders from science stream can also seek admission into the second year of engineering courses. The other option is to take the Associate Membership Examination of the Institute of Engineers Examination or AMIE that allows working professionals and diploma holders to get a Bachelor's degree in engineering through the distance learning mode.

yes, your percentage is very low, I will not suggest that you should choose engineering as a career, but still you want to do engineering you can try for private college in Faridabad, they will admit you.
