The Minister for HRD of India announced the NIRF Rankings. NIRF stands for the National Institutional Ranking Framework rankings. The top institutions in India found the place in this ranking. IIT, Madras grabbed the top position among engineering colleges.

Positions grabbed by IITs:

In the top 10 positions, 8 of them are IITs. The other two are Anna and Jadavpur University. Here is the list of top 50 institutions as per NIRF Ranking for the year 2017:

Same ranks:

Of these top institutions, some institutes shared the same rank. For instance, IIST and the IIT, Mandi share the rank 28. Furthermore, two institutions share the rank 31 with equal scores.

Top 10 Position score Comparison with the Previous Year:

In the NIRF Ranking for 2016, IITs grabbed the top 10 positions. This year, Anna University and Jadavpur University has improved in scores. Last years, these two universities were not in top 100 list. But, this year they have improved.

Conclusion:

Candidates dreaming of engineering can apply to any of these top institutions.  They can shine in their engineering career.

On completion of MBBS, for being specialised in a specific field, candidate will have to take up MD or MS course in Junagadh with appropriate specialization.
