All about GATE 2018

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in engineering .GATE is an Entrance exam and is an All India Level Examination that tests the Understanding of the different undergraduate subjects in various aspects of engineering. GATE Entrance exam is jointly conducted by the seven old IITs and IISc, Bangalore. GATE Score reflects the relative performance of the candidates and it is used for providing the admissions in various postgraduate programs like M.Tech, ME, PhD in Indian Higher education Institutes like IITs and IIsc. In the recent years the GATE Score is also used for the entry level positions in the various public sector undertakings.

GATE is basically a bench marking exam on the technical knowledge of a student and hence has a very high reputation amongst various institutions and even private sector companies as generally a good GATE Score guarantees a good technical knowledge.

Also day by day requirement of various industries is increasing in terms of education so no longer degree is sufficient and so to get placed in the leading industries one needs to the post graduation degree and GATE is only the exam which is an entrance portal for the best postgraduate programs across the country .GATE qualified candidates are also eligible for the award of Junior Research fellowship in CSIR laboratories and CSIR sponsered projects.

All the candidates who are in their final year of or have completed their are eligible to appear for the GATE Exam. GATE Exam now will be conducted online and hence it is conducted in multiple sessions and the normalized score is accepted as a standard for the admissions to various institutions across the country.

GATE curriculum is exactly same as the undergraduate curriculum so not much extra preparation is required and hence is a good option to give it a try at least no matter what you future plans many be.

If a phase I test taker of Haridwar oe other places is not satisfied his/her performance in the test or if a candidate has missed out to apply for NEET, he/she can apply for phase 2 exam, It is a second chance provided to aspiring candidates.
