Eligibility Criteria & Exam Pattern For NCHMCT JEE 2015

The National Council For Hotel Management & Catering Technology located in Noida has started issuing application forms for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). This is the entrance test conducted by the institute for admission of students to the Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration. To apply to this test, it is important that candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria:

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicants must have passed in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent qualification with English as one of the subjects. It is important that they must have studied English either as a functional, elective or core paper. Those appearing for the 2015 higher secondary examination can also apply for JEE 2015 and they will be allowed to take the test on provisional basis. It is important that these candidates must submit the proof of their pass in qualifying examination either at the time of counseling or at the time of admission or before the 30th of September 2015. Otherwise, their provisional admission will stand cancelled.

Admission will be offered only after verification or original documents/certificates at the time of admission. If it is found that any candidate is not eligible after admission to the institute, the admission will be cancelled by the institute.

Age limit: Upper age limit is 22 years for general category candidates as on the 1st of July 2015. This means that those born after or on the 01st of July 1993 are eligible to apply. For reserved category candidates the upper age limit is 25 years on the specified date. Those born on or after 01st July 1990 are eligible if they come under SC/ST category.

Exam pattern:

As mentioned earlier, students can now apply for this entrance test, which is planned to be conducted on the 25th of April 2015. Now, coming to the exam pattern, the questions will be given both in English and in Hindi. The test will be conducted for 3 hours and the number of questions for each section will be as follows:

  1. Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude -  30 Questions
  2. Reasoning and Logical Deduction – 30 Questions
  3. General Knowledge & Current Affairs  - 30 Questions
  4. English Language  - 60 Questions
  5. Aptitude for Service Sector  - 50 Questions

There will be 200 questions in total and each question in the first four sections will carry one mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 for wrong answers.  For the final section mentioned above, grade marks will be awarded. For this section, the most appropriate answer will carry 1 mark, while the next appropriate answer will earn 0.75 marks. In the case of third appropriate answer, 0.50 marks will be allotted. For last appropriate answer, there will be negative marking of 0.25.

Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is a course that can provide better job prospects for successful candidates. So, students, who meet the eligibility requirements can apply to this test.
