The University Grants Commission Regulation 2016 dated 1st of June 2016 has recommended that all universities should admit candidates to the Ph. D only on the basis of the entrance test. On the basis of this regulation by the UGC, the Maharaja Sayajirao University shortly called as PSU, has introduced the PET test from the year 2016. However, candidates with National/State Eligibility Examination scores need not have to take up the PET test conducted by MSU for admission to the Ph. D course.

Candidates appearing for PET will have to remember that their PET score will be valid for 2 years from the date of publishing of results. On successful completion of PET and Personality Test, candidates will be called for registration as per Ph. D ordinance of the MSU.
