Pilot is a key person in airline operations and his job is mainly concerned with flying of the air craft’s on scheduled routes. License for Flying is very important for a commercial pilot.

Job Profile of a pilot:

They Fly aircrafts on long and short flights.

You have to check the technical details of the flight.

Make calculation when flight takes off and lands.

Have to check the fuel requirements and ensure that fueling is done as per the requirements.

Need to establish the contact with the air traffic controller for takeoff.

Check all the equipment's and requirements.

During flight:

Use their expertise and experience for takeoff and landing

•Speak to passengers, over the public address system on speed and height, details of ground areas they are flying over, warnings of turbulence and difficult weather conditions

•Duties are shared usually with one or two co-pilots

Education requirements:

One important thing here is that the candidates have to get the license in three stages

1. Student Pilot License (SPL)

2 Private Pilot License (PPL)

3 Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

After completing class Xth or XII th the students can apply for the SPL

 On passing Class XII (PCM) they may enroll for the next license -PPL

 On getting the PPL training begins for CPL

Student pilot license can be taken at flying clubs in every State. It is a theory exam.

•The Eligibility criteria for this is the age of the student should be minimum 16 and pass in Class X. A medical certificate of fitness, security clearance and a bank guarantee is required.

•Selection - Candidates taking the SPL test have to appear in an oral examination on a fixed day every month. Candidates have to enroll a month before the examination.

Selected candidates go through a medical test and the Pilot Aptitude Test.

•Private pilot license is a practical training. A total of 60 hours of flying is needed of which 20 hours minimum should be solo and 5 hours cross country.
