Some golden rules which to be remembered while preparing a resume to make it more worthy and attractive are-

Use STAR method-

Here the STAR method is basically nothing but a type of formatting which consider your experiences in terms and in sequence of Situation, Task, Action and Result. If this method is used properly it works well for Management Graduates. It is one of the most successful ways to showcase your achievements. Its a short narrative with targeted opening, shot descriptive middle and a strong finish.

Keep it Short and Relevant-

As we know there are so many resumes come in front of an employer for a single post, so it’s practically not possible to go briefly through all these CV’s. Very less time is taken by them to shortlist the candidates basis on of resumes. So try to put your strong points first so that it can grab the attention. Keep it short simple and relevant. Use Simple fonts so that it can be read easily. Emphasize only significant job title and skills.

Mention only Obvious Points-

Start with your Name and include your new credentials. Describe in short the key competencies that you gained through MBA. Also mention qualities like public speaking, communication, leadership and so forth. If you were a part of case competition ore any other activity than list it in bullets. Mention only those job experiences which directly match to the job you are applying.

Basics are also important-

A resume is not only laundry list of your qualification but also and example of your most careful work. Be conscious don’t make any typing, spacing or grammatical error in your resume. It will lead a bad remark.

At the end-

As there is no preferred guideline for how to make your resume or no formula for it. But there are some things which can be used for making it outshine. It’s not easy to showcase all your achievements on a single sheet of paper but with some efforts you can fine tune your resume into powerful marketing tool to distinguish yourself from others.
