Lot of Demand for Biotechnologists in India these days

Indian Biotechnology industry has become one of the fatest growing sectors and contributes the maximum nearly 3/5th of the total revenue at Rs 9,500 crore.

Development in this sector has resulted in an augmented demand of the trained professionals.

The profession also offers the various job opportunites not only in the field of biology but also in the subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and engineering.

NIIT  University explains that biotechnology engineering or bio engineering is the applciation of concepts and methods of molecular biology to solve the problems in life sciences using the engineerings analytical and the synthetic methodologies the course creates the manpower that is trained in the latest techniques and the devices for the biological research including the pharmaceutical industry.

All the who wish to study the bio engineering must understand that this field is at a nascent stage and also promises huge potential as there is no other area where integration of physical and the biological sciences is visible.

Biotechnology sector is the fast growing in manufacturing field today.be it a manufactruing of and enhancing the production of effective and safer drugs, the diagnostic kits, affordable vaccines, designer foods, probiotics, biosensors, agro-biochemical, industrial enzymes, transgenic crops,  Bio similar or introduction of cleaner bio process all these have good career prospects both at National and International Levels.

Biotechnology courses vary in duration and courses are offered at the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate level.

The different types of degrees a student can earn in this field include a bachelor in biotechnology which is of three years, a bachelor of engineering or technology in biotechnology which is of four year duration.

Graduates can also opt for an MBA in biotechnology for two years or a PhD in the same. During the post graduation, students can specialize in subjects such as agri biotechnology, pharma biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, fermentation technology, industrail biotechnology, biochemical engineering, tissue engineering and plant biotechnology.

Remuneration very much depends upon the academic qualification and the experience. In the corporate sector freshers may get anything between Rs 70,000 and Rs 85,000 per month. Those working in research institute can earn between Rs 60,000 per month.
