The SRM University based in Chennai is now ready to start 11 new courses across its campuses in various parts of the country in this academic year. Courses in allied health sciences, dual degrees and integrated courses are also being offered.
The vice chancellor M.Ponnavaiko said two four years courses (BSc renal Dialysis Technology and BSc Radiology and Imaging technology), a two year MSc Medical Physics programme, MSc econometrics, A International Studies and MCom Finance and Accounts will be introduced in this year.
Three MTech Programmes in Food safety and quality Management Renewable and solar Photovoltaic technology dual degree will help the candidates get a Master of Health Management and MBA degrees that will help candidates get a Master of health Management and an MBA degree at the end of the course. And five years integrated MBA can also be taken after class 12th.This will be planned for this year.
Three diploma programs including diploma in politics, leadership and political entrepreneurship are being introduced. Institutes in Pune and Delhi are also offering these programmes. University officials said some of the programmes are sponsored by the industry.
Releasing the results of the entrance exam conducted by the university a student from Andhra Pradesh secured the highest rank followed by the student from the Tamil nadu.He also added that 10% of the 60,000 candidates studying in the institutions under this group will also get various scholorships, including merit and sports achievements.
