The best 10 Scholarships for the Indian Students

Here both the UK government and the universities offer the extensive range of scholarships and the fellowships for the international students. There are various students who want to study full time program in any of the streams available.There are many scholorships provided,international scholorships, national scholorships and many more scholorships.

There are various types of  scholarships that offer the deduction on the total tuition fee, but there are also some scholarships that provide the living expenses, the airfare, visa fee based on the applicant's academic excellence and the background.

These scholarships programmes and the other funding will be managed by the British council and the other associated organizations.

Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships

St John's College has now launched the Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships in honor of Dr Singh. These awards will also enable the academically outstanding Indian students to come to St.Jonhs College, University of Cambridge to study the doctoral degrees in various subjects like science and technology, economics and the social science. The Applications in the Aerospace Engineering and the energy studies will be given preference. The Scholarships are fully funded and also will cover the academic fees the international airfare, the monthly stipend to cover the living expenses, UK visa etc.

Application deadline-15th January 2016.

Commonwealth Scholarship and the fellowship plan-2016

This scholarship is the initiative from the government. The scholarships are given to the students of commonwealth countries who will make the contribution to the home country after the completion of the higher education program in UK. The scholarship also covers the economy return international travel, the tuition fee, the adequate maintaince and the other allowances. For Master's degree the candidate should also have the bachelor degree that has to completed by October 2016 in the subject field having 60% or above marks in Humanities and the social science group and having 65% or above marks in medical, engineering and technology, science and Agriculture group.

3. Goa Education Trust Scholarship-They also provide the scholarships and research the fellowships to the eligible students for the post graduate studies in United Kingdom in all the spheres, the fields and also the departments. The scholarship is also provided to the students that covers the full time course as well as the part time tuition fees.

4. Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarships-CWIT offers Upto 10 long term awards. The awards that are generally from 2 to 3 months up to a maximum of year cover all the accommodation and the living costs in the UK, the fess and the contribution to the international fares.

CWIT does not provide the scholarships to the two year courses

5. Sir Ratan Tata Scholarships

This scholarship provides partial international airfare from India to the university abroad. Travel grants are also provided to the students who are applying for postgraduate and the doctoral studies.

The Applications for the travel grants for the purpose of studies abroad need to reach the trusts office between the months of April and July for fall admission and also between November and December for the spring admissions.

6. HornbyScholorships

The trust awards the scholarships to the English language teachers from developing countries like India. The trust also focuses on supporting the English language specialists like senior teachers, the teacher trainers, the inspectors and the material writers by offering the MA Scholarships in order to enable them to study the English language and teaching for the academic year in UK. Graduates are then here encouraged to use the knowledge to improve the teaching of English in the Home Counties. The applicant also must have at least 5 years experience as an English language teacher.

7. Inlaks Scholarships

This Scholarship is provided at the top American, European and UK institutions for funding requirements including tuition fees. Inlakhs Scholarship also provides the opportunity to the young people with the exceptional talent in various fields to improve the skills in the society. Here the scholarships are of two types

One is the university courses and other is the specific programs

Indian citizens who hold the good undergraduate degree from the recognized university outside India must also have resided continuously and also been employed or been studying in India for at least two years at the time of application. People who are holding a postgraduate degree from the university outside India are not eligible.

8. Felix Scholarship

The Felix scholarship was founded to offer the underprivileged students from India. Felix Scholarship trust offers up to 6 scholarships each for Indian graduates at the University of Oxford, University of reading and school of Oriental and African studies every year.

The scholarships are also open to academically underprivileged citizens of India under the 30 yrs of age, who hold the first class bachelor degree from the recognized Indian university.

9. Rhodes scholarship

Each and every year there are five scholarships available for the Indian students that are chosen on the basis of exceptional intellect, the character, the leadership and as well as the commitment to service to study at the University of Oxford. Rhodes scholarship covers all the university and the college fees, the personal stipend and one economy class airfare to Oxford at the start of the scholarship as well as an economy flight back to the student's home country at the conclusion of the scholarships.

10. Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Mundus scholarship is basically provided to improve the quality in higher education through the cooperation between the Europe and the rest of the world. The program offers the financial support for the institutions and the scholarship for the individuals. Scholarship amounts can vary according to the level of studies, teaching/research, and their duration. The scholarship amount granted to the non EU applicant is more than that of EU residents.
