Five Mistakes that an MBA aspirant should never make!!!

MBA College is basically termed as the journey of life. A journey that will change us and the pay cheques for ever.

But before we embark on the journey there are major hurdles in the way he much coveted CAT/XAT exams and the dreaded GD/PI/WAT and whatever they feel like throwing at us. In this one year you will end up facing so many highs and lows.

1. Mocks are serious business. Mock scores should be taken with a pinch of salt. If you are scoring well then keep at it try not to get the overconfident. But if the scores seem low don’t let them break you. Remember that mock scores will not decide the actual performance. The most important thing to analyze them and look for the gaps in the preparation.

2. College Forms

I will never score that high, I shouldn’t fill that college form or that college isn't worth me I won’t apply there.

One can never predict the CAT/XAT percentile. I don't care even if you are a psychic you just can't!!

Do not under or overestimate yourself. Just fill the forms.

I am not asking you to fill every college form. But it’s better to make a list of target colleges keeping your profile and work ex in mind.

Also be realistic, I know every single student wants to be in an IIM but that's exactly the point not every student will eventually land there.

3. Every exam is important

Yes each and every one of the exam is important.  Most of the students just focus on the CAT but then you would miss the opportunity of being in some really good colleges and with the IIMS giving so much wiehgtage to the academics it becomes all the more important to focus on other exams as well like IIFT, TISS, XAT, SNAP, NMAT and so many more.

4. The quintessential psychological barrier

I will never be able to score in VA how will you if you keep repeating that to yourself always. Even without realizing we put up this psychological barrier in front of us. Usually the Verbal Section is a nightmare for many students .But there are so many ways to attempt that sections so many tips and tricks are used and like any other section with the regular practice a decent percentile is achievable. But what needs is the maximum is practice. Also a better percentile in this section will boost the overall percentile that will count well.

5. Academic Scores

Most of the people are messed up with the 10th and are also busy in preparing for JEE and AIEEE or other exams. With all major IIMs giving weight age to the academic scores we are trained for life. But that is not the reason for trying it. There are certain thing that really can’t change so cribbing over it and then rating it is waste of time hence work on the percentile of nothing works.

Last but not the least never fall in love it will mess up the preparations and nothing else. So at least wait till the CAT/XAT to propose to that really beautiful girl you kept staring at in the coaching class or the office and that handsome hunk you couldn't get your eyes off can seriously wait. Wait till you can afford that expensive honeymoon package or that dowry money!!!
