How do you crack the tough GATE exam?

Are you interested to preparation for Gate?

There was a time when a graduate proudly used to flaunt his degree but now graduation is just an extra step after schooling. Students from all streams are showing their interest in perusing higher studies. Prior to this Engineering was not a common profession but this era which is based on technology, there is no more shortage of engineers. Rather after getting their B.Tech degree they opt for M.tech to improve their skills in the same field. IIT conducts Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering to analyze the skills of undergraduate students from engineering and science background. GATE is an online test and students who have passed engineering, BSc. or in the final year are only eligible for this.

Here are some tips to crack GATE:

Focus on your goal when you are preparing for any competitive exam. Many of your friends may be preparing for GRE, CAT, MAT or getting jobs through placements but you stay firm to secure your position in GATE. You need to make sure that you would never lose your motivation.

Some believe, it is difficult to prepare simultaneously for graduation and GATE but those who cracked it in one shot insist to try when you are in the final year of your Graduation

Practice previous years’ papers repetitively to find your standing and get the feel of the crucial test. Group studies can also be effective if you are serious about it. Don’t get distracted when you are studying in a group.

The subjects that you need to look after:

Engineering Mathematics: As per GATE pattern it is one of the vital parts which are not so difficult for any Engineering students. Students who are good at mathematics in their 12th only go for engineering where in their 1st or 2nd year, Engineering Mathematics is taught. Sometimes they take it casually and get less mark in this section. Give little more attention to secure good score in GATE.

General Aptitude: This is not in the syllabus of any engineering or BSc courses. Students need to prepare it for this Exam. This section comprises of verbal and numerical ability. All of us studied grammar in school level which you need to brush up again for the entrance test.

Subject Papers: This section contains maximum marks so evidently demands extra attention. 8- 10 subjects that are taught in your graduation come in this paper. Start preparing from the very first year with 2-3 subjects to avoid the pressure in the final year.

Scoring below 100 in All India based exam is not a joke. Your rank followed by an interview session will decide your career graph. So good Luck!
