Various IITs are taking steps in this way to provide management skills also to the students. IIT’s are offer engineering and management courses in their campuses. Choosing the right specialisations in the second year of the MBA course offered by IIT’s is the key. These specializations are available in the combination of both management and technical skills. CAT Entrance is Must:
Candidates who wish to take MBA courses in IITs must also qualify in Common Admission Test (CAT) and get a good score. Also they have to get qualify in Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and also personal interview. Candidates must apply for each IIT separately. For this purpose, the IITs will issue a separate notification for each IIT.
The other thing to know about IIT-MBA program is, IIT’s are being ranked in World University Rankings (Management). Recently released QS World University Rankings shows that, IIT-Mumbai ranks in 101-150 rankings. IIT Delhi (151-200); IIT-Chennai (251-300) also earned a good place in world rankings. IITs have also been ranked in the Times Higher Education Rankings - Business and Management category.

11 placements have been done for the 2016-18 batch. The average annual salary is Rs 15 lakh.

The MBA program is offered over a 21-month period, by the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering. Specializations in Marketing, Finance, HRM, Manufacturing Management and Service Management are available.
