MAT entrance exam is conducted for seeking admissions into MBA programs in various top management colleges and B-Schools in India.  Management Aptitude test (MAT) will be conducted both through Online mode and offline mode. MAT entrance exam will be conducted on September 1st 2016  in the offline mode and on September 7th 2016 onwards in the online mode. MAT entrance exams are  accepted by more than 500 institutes across the country. All the top Management institutes and good MBA Colleges that accept MAT entrance score are approved by All India Council for Technical education or the Distance education council.

All about MAT Entrance exam

MAT entrance exam is usually conducted four times in a year once in February, May, September and December. The minimum qualification to appear in the MAT entrance exam is graduation in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year students are also allowed to take the examinations.

Student can take MAT entrance exam in two formats one in paper-pencil format and another in Computer based format. MAT entrance paper contains 200 questions where in the students have to answer in 150 minutes. The question paper is divided into five sections including language comprehensions, data analysis and sufficiency, mathematical skills, intelligence and critical reasoning. As the reports there are about 10% to 15% who take the Online MAT exam and the remaining go for paper pen mode.

Usually two lakhs people take MAT entrance exam every year.  If one attempts around 100 to 105 questions out of 160 questions and gets around 90 to 95 answers as correct then one is likely to get a good score which will be easy for seeking admissions.

At least 500 to 600 institutes accept the scores of MAT.  Speed is very important point to be considered when you are doing well in MAT since you have to attempt 200 questions in 150 minutes where as CAT requires 60 questions to be attempted in 140 minutes.  Here the management students are tested on parameters like verbal ability, numerical ability and logical ability. The candidates also have to perform well in the group discussions and interview stage.

One needs to practice well for the entrance exams. You should understand the fundamentals of arithmetic, including numbers, percentages, averages, profit and loss, time and distance etc. One should also have algebra topics such as permutations and combinations and probability are also important. You should be also perfect in the calculations. Last but not the least builds a good vocabulary by reading great books. Make proper use of good grammar.
