And usually PGDM Course doesn't have that much value in the market.
Below mentioned are few differences among them:
The MBA programs are offered by most of the business schools and management colleges that are affiliated to particular university on a mandatory purpose.PGDM programs are diploma programs which are provided by the institutes recognized by government of India. Some private b-schools also provide PGDM Course.
In order to get admission into MBA the students need to give the entrance exam conducted by the state or need to attend joint entrance exam. The PGDM Courses are offered by conducting the CAT/MAT/XAT Entrance exam.
The flexibility with MBA is very good as it is affiliated to the university the changing of the syllabus or any rules and regulations are very slow. The flexibility with the PGDM courses is opposite as PGDM Courses is provided by most of the autonoums institutes so the syllabus keeps on changing and even the rules and regulations.
MBA programs involve more theory rather than practical where as PGDM Course is completley related to Practical rather than theory the approach are more towards practical than theory. The one similarity between them is both can be learnt regular as well as Part time.
MBA fees can be more affordable then PGDM Fee structure.Where as the fee structure of PGDM is more than that of MBA.
MBA or PGDM has its own importance if one needs knowledge regarding both theory and practical but pgdm courses are completely industry orientated more of practical knowledge. Whatever you may choose it’s very important to gather the information about the faculty members. Visit the college spend few hours by researching the college have a discussion with the faculty members and the students.PGDM programs are similar to that of MMS programmes. But when it comes to job both MBA Degree aspirants and
PGDM aspirants get equal job in the market. At the same time, a PGDM from institutes like ISB, IPE, XLRI or such top institutes has a brand value and are readily accepted by the industry.
Students usually get confused while selecting the course. In order to make the task easy you should do proper research regarding the fee structure, regarding your future plan and career growth.
