Which one to go for after MBBS-MD or MS

As a Doctor, there will be lot of confusion for you regarding which course you need to opt for MS or MD? MS is a postgraduate degree in general surgery while the MD is the postgraduate degree in General medicine. Both the degrees can be pursued after MBBS. The expert says that MS is for some fields where more of surgical expertise and the skills are required. MD is non surgical but there are some branches where surgery can be part of MD. There are various branches where a MBBS graduate can pursue MS or MD. MD after MBBS and MS after MBBS has lot of scope. The decision should be taken on the individual choice. Since the competition is growing after MD or MS once can join in the medical college as the teaching faculty, they can even start their own practice, can even apply for the job in both the government health sector and the private hospitals.

The future Prospects of the MS and MD

The prospects of the MS and MD are usually the same. The person who completes the MS becomes a surgeon while the one completes MD is a physician. A Physician cannot be a surgeon, the surgeon can work in place of a physician with more study of medicine. The surgeon can earn a lot more money that a physician, if he or she is good and skilled. Both the fields have good future prospects. Some are interested in doing the surgeries and some without doing it. But practically most of the doctors earn money in the surgical sector. There are many Medical Colleges in India that provide the best MBBS Course i.e MD or MS. Person who has done MD can also pursue MS.Both the fields are different, the choice should be between the surgery and the medicine. Here not everyone should take up the field of surgery as it is the god gift the art blended with science. It is the creative discipline and as well requires the lots of skills, the talent and the passion to succeed.

But theoretically the Person who has done MD can also do MS. But practicality no one does it. People go for super specialty fields like Cardiology, Eurology and the neurology because the medical science is very advanced and the treatment of each and every organ is very complicated Here MD and MS are different approaches. There is lot of scope and demand for both the fields.

The Popular specializations in MS and MD are

MD

The obstetrics&Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Neurology and the Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gynaecology, Internal Medicine, Paediatric, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Radiodiagnosis and the Pathology.

Usually it takes three years to complete the MD or MS but for s super specialization the student needs two years more after MD or MS.

After completing the post graduation degree and the specialization degree there are two choices, once can either work in a hospital as a lecturer to gain more experience or can even start the own private practice. In the teaching profession one can earn up to Rs 30,000 to 50,000 per month where as in private it depends upon the practice and the experiences. The salary that a surgeon can get depends on the lot of skills and the talent of the person. Here the surgeon can expect to get a salary of Rs 75,000 to one lakh per month after MS.The surgeons who are more experienced and skilled can earn more.

The starting salary after the MD or MS may vary from city to city and hospitals to hospitals. The salary after doing the post graduation starts from 70,000 per month depending upon the experience and the practice.

Entrance exams to prepare for the postgraduate courses

Here the Aspirants should take the Common Entrance test- NEET PG Entrance exam(national eligibility cum entrance test for the medical postgraduate courses-MD/MS/Diploma) after completing the MBBS Degree. Students should know the interest and the choice so that it will be easy for them to choose the streams. Students can also go for the medical exams that are conducted by the private medical universities in India. The best choice between MS and the MD should be made by the individual. Which one to choose between the surgery and the medicine is completely left to the candidate? Surgery is usually recommended for those doctors who have lot of passion in it. Surgery is always about the right mix of the knowledge, artistic skills, the hardwork, commitment and the passion.

Students here in India are opting for MD and MS .Here the people have come up with the different types of employment under the medical science. Once after completing MBBS the people can take MBA in hospital administration, the HR etc for the placements in pharma companies, the corporate hospitals.
