Established in the year 1996, the Amrita School of Business (ASB) has succeeding in carving out a niche for itself just within one and a half decade. This school functions in all four campuses namely; Kochi, Coimbatore, Bengaluru and Amritapuri. This institute has issued notification for admission of students to the MBA programme 2016 and here are some details in this regard:
About the course: This is a two-year full-residential program and the core course will introduce the students to different areas of business like operations management, human resources, marketing, finance and accounting. The role plays, games, seminars and workshops along with theoretical education at ASB brings together an healthy blend of methodologies in imparting holistic education to future managers.
- Applicants must have completed their graduation with minimum 50% of marks in 10+2+3 format. The graduation should be obtained from a university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
- Valid scores of CMAT/CAT/MAT/GRE/GMAT/XAT will be considered for admission. However, MAT & CMAT scores can be used for applying only to the Amritapuri, Kochi and Bengaluru Campuses and not Coimbatore campus.
Selection process: Selected candidates will be called for Personal Interview in the third week of March 2016. The names of shortlisted candidates will be posted in the website of the university and so the applicants are recommended to check the same then and there. Interview dates will be intimated to the shortlisted candidates by post and interview will be held at different cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Kochi, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Amritapur.
Size of the batch: The classes for MBA will begin in the month of June 2016 and the total number of seats available is 300, which is divided as 120 for Coimbatore campus and 60 each for other three campuses.
Orientation program: In the third week of June, an orientation program will be organized for new entrants of the MBA course. This is a kind of preparatory program, which should be compulsorily attended by candidates. The actual date will be intimated to the students, once the schedules are finalized.
One-time charges: At the time of admission, students will have to pay a one-time charge of Rs.41000 if they get admission to the Bengaluru Campus, while for other campuses, this fee is Rs.40500.
Other fee: This amount should be paid in two annual installments, which amounts to Rs. 59000, Rs. 68000, Rs.82000 and Rs.64000 for Amritapuri, Bangaluru, Coimbatore and Cochi Campuses respectively.
Tuition fee: This fee to be paid in four bi-annual installments amounts to Rs.3,60,000 for Amritapuri, Rs.7,50,000 for Bangaluru, Rs.6,00,000 for Coimbatore and Rs.3,60,000 for Cochi.
In addition to these fees, the hostel rent, establishment rent, Mess bill and caution deposit for hostel stay are separate. The students living in the same city along with their parents are exempted from staying in the hostel and if they are located within 30 kms from the campus, they can use the transportation facility.
