The EdCIL (India) Limited [EdCIL], formerly known as Educational Consultants India Limited, a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), offers consultancy services in all areas of education and human resource development. EdCIL is the nodal agency for organizing admission of International Students (Foreign Nationals / PIOs / NRIs) to pursue Diploma, Under Graduate, Post-Graduate and Doctoral Programmes in premier Indian Educational Institutions.

* Advising students about Indian Education.

* Identifying appropriate courses/institutions to meet students needs.

* Arranging provisional admission offer letters to the students from the institutions.

* Obtaining statutory approvals and VISA formalities.

* Facilitating arrival / departure of students.

* Arranging preparatory/bridge courses, if required.

* Arranging English Language Programmes for students, if required.

* Liaison between institutions and parents/sponsoring agencies.

* Post admission assistance to the students.

* Regular monitoring of progress of the students during his/her studies.

Admissions currently being offered are:

1) EdCIL (India) Limited [EdCIL] offers direct admission to eligible Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) / Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) for undergraduate Engineering/Information Technology/Architecture programs offered by the 14 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 2 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and 4 other institutions including Punjab Engineering College-Chandigarh under the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) Scheme. In this scheme, under supernumerary quota, a limited number of admissions are offered on MERIT basis to the eligible candidates, on satisfying certain admission requirements.

2) Self-Financing Scheme (SFS) :Admission for Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) is being offered to: UG/PG and Diploma Programmes in 24 Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) and 6 Food Craft Institutes under National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT). UG/PG/Doctoral Programmes in Agriculture/Veterinary Sciences at 40 Agricultural Universities throughout India under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

3) Government Sponsored Scheme: Under this Scheme EdCIL provides admission to the Foreign Nationals sponsored by Foreign Government in Under-Graduate /Post-Graduate/Doctoral programs etc in various Indian Institutions in the discipline of Arts, Agriculture, Commerce, Engineering, Hotel management, Medical, Management, Pharmacy, and Science etc. Presently P&S Division is executing this Scheme for the Government of Bhutan, Danida, Libya, Nepal, Saudi Arabia etc.

4) The Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) is introduced by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) .The SPDC is applicable for NRI and PIO students for undergraduate studies in Professional and General Courses. The Programme is applicable to Indian Diaspora from 40 selected countries, having larger concentration of Persons of Indian origin. Scholarship shall be provided to 100 selected students, out of which 50 seats are reserved for PIOs.

IEC normally comprises of Tuition Fee, Course Fee, other University Charges and Postal Charges, etc. Ed.CIL normally charges 10% of IEC for the first year of study and 5% of IEC for the subsequent years for its services
